Our Faith

We believe the Holy Bible as the inspired Word of God, without any error, the all-sufficient authority in matters of faith, doctrine, and Christian living. II Timothy 1:13; 3:16-17;  II Peter 1: 20-21.

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Genesis 1:26; Deut 6:4; John 10:30 and John 14:16-23.

We believe in the Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ, and that He is true God and man. He died on the cross for our sins. He rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven where He sits at the right hand of the Father and is now our High Priest and Advocate.  Luke 1:35; Hebrews 12:2.

We believe that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore lost.

Only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can man’s salvation and spiritual life be obtained. John 16:8; 13-14; Acts 1:8; I Corinthians 2:9-12; 3:16; 12:13; Ephesians 5:18.

We believe that eternal salvation is the free gift of God, entirely apart from man’s works, and is possessed by any and all who have faith in and receive Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. Ephesians 2:8-9.

Infants and small children may be dedicated to the Lord in the church upon the request of the parents or guardians (Mark 10:13-16; Luke 18:15-16).

We believe in a regenerated church membership: that is, persons old enough to understand their need for Jesus Christ and, of their own free will, accepted Him as their personal Lord and Savior. Genesis 2:7; John 16:7-11; Romans 5:12.

We believe in water baptism through immersion and the Lord’s Supper. Mark 10:39;  John 1:29-33; Matthew 26:26-29.

We believe in the personal, bodily, imminent, and glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ and that His second coming inspires believers for dynamic and zealous life and service for Him while waiting for His return. Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1; 20:28-29; Romans 9:5; II Peter 1:1; I John 5:20-21; Titus 2:13

We believe in Christian marriage between one man and one woman as outlined in scripture.  Scripture Reference: (Genesis1:27/Genesis 2:18-25/ Ephesians 5:25/ Hebrews 13:4 Matthew 19:5-6, I Corinthians 7: 2.). All marriages recognized by CVM should be authenticated by a certificate of marriage.

Divorce-CVM shall adhere to the Bible teaching on divorce as taught by Christ in Matthew 19:3-9.
